Vinyasa Flow - This moderately-paced class emphasizes linking breath with movement as we flow through a series of yoga poses to strengthen the body, improve balance, increase flexibility and calm the mind. Translated from Sanskrit, vinyasa means “connection.” Vinyasa Yoga synchronizes movement with breath which helps the practitioner develop a greater sense of self-awareness, balance, and harmony with themselves and their environment. Each class is unique, but may include the many variations of Sun Salutations as well as standing postures, inversions, backbends, twists, forward bends, and deep relaxation. This class is suitable for all levels, and runs one hour.
Vinyasa+Deep Stretch - This unique class blends the movement and breath work of vinyasa flow with the longer-held postures of yin yoga. Appropriate for all levels of yoga practitioners. Class runs approximately one hour.
Meditation+Mindful Flow -This unique class offers a blend of meditation and yoga experience. Each week we will introduce you to a meditation technique, followed by gentle and mindful flow. Meditation is a way to train your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts. It can increase your awareness of yourself and your surroundings. It is often regarded as a way to reduce stress and develop concentration. This practice will combine mindful body movement and insight that will bring you greater peace and happiness on, and off, your mat. Offered by Joanne Travers, RYT500. Class runs one hour.
Power Hour -For those students with an established yoga practice and an understanding of vinyasa flow yoga, plan to challenge yourself with an hour of dynamic, strengthening vinyasa flow yoga. The music playlist is often modern and lively. Be prepared to work, sweat and have fun!
Yoga for Strength - This creative vinyasa practice is intended to cultivate a deeper sense of awareness and concentration, while building functional strength in the body. In this class we will sculpt and tone every major muscle group in the body by combining traditional vinyasa yoga poses with light (2-5 lb) hand weights, as well as bodyweight training. Build bone density, tone up legs, arms, shoulders and core - and leave class feeling strong, centered and refreshed to start your day. Class runs one hour.
Inferno Pilates - Inferno Pilates is a 60-minute training system which combines Pilates principles with High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) set to music. It is an intense, full body workout designed to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and improve overall health. It is performed in a moderately heated room on a yoga mat making it zero impact, protecting your joints and muscles. It is designed for all fitness levels.
Restorative Yoga - We are pleased to invite you to enjoy a blissful experience at the end of your week with Restorative yoga! Restorative yoga is a supported, conscious body/mind relaxation practice. With the help of props (such as bolsters, blocks and blankets) the body relaxes and opens, releasing tension and stress. Restorative poses offer benefits to both the body and mind. Students will hold a small number of relaxing poses for extended periods of time to enjoy some deep, meditative time and stress relief. Class runs 60-75 minutes, and all levels of yoga experience are welcome.
Yoga Core+Sculpt - This athletic-style class will combine the natural weight-bearing benefits of body weight resistance, props (light hand weights, bands, exercise balls etc) with vinyasa flow to improve balance, flexibility and stamina. Class runs one hour.
Dynamic Flow - A beautifully-sequenced, moderate flow practice linking breath and movement. This class refines the body while increasing strength, flexibility and balance. Class runs one hour.
Slow Flow - This class focuses on breath work, deep stretching, toning and relaxation. Class may begin with some slower-paced flowing movement such as sun salutation sequences to warm up the body - always with suggestions for modifications and focus on proper alignment. Perfect for those newer to yoga, or those who desire a slower-paced yoga practice in a supportive environment. Stretching and toning sequences are designed to help you to open up areas of tightness in the body, such as hips, legs & shoulders. Set to a background of relaxing music, this class is sure to leave you with a feeling of pure bliss! All levels are welcome and class runs 60-75 minutes.
Gentle Yoga - Deepen your yoga practice with this gentle yoga class. We begin our practice with a focus on the breath to quiet the mind. Slowly we begin to incorporate light movement to awaken and expand the body, followed by a slow sequence of yoga poses designed to gain strength and balance. Class winds down with relaxation to calm and restore the body and mind. All levels of yoga experience are welcome. Class runs 60-75 minutes.
Balancing Flow Yoga- Move toward a balance of feeling more grounded and simultaneously lightened up. Integrate your mind, body and breath…taking some time just for YOU at the end of your work day. Expect a well-balanced mix of postures, including standing and balance poses to build strength; twists and backbends to keep your back healthy; and seated poses to open the hips and stretch the legs. Yoga Basics - Join Joanne for a mindful all-levels flow with a bit of basic training on a posture of the week! Through thoughtful, dynamic sequencing, students will learn the basics of a flow yoga practice. This class will explore the principles of body alignment, breathing techniques and the use of props to support and modify postures. Great for beginners, as well as those students who would like to "get back to basics" and fine-tune their foundational yoga postures. Class runs 60-75 minutes.
Yin Yoga - Slow down with this quiet practice that targets the deeper connective tissue with the aim of increasing circulation and improving overall flexibility. The practice of yin yoga provides the perfect balance to your active (yang) yoga practices and your busy life. Focusing on long-held floor poses combined with breath work and meditation, yin yoga is helpful in relieving tension in areas such as the hips, pelvis, and low back. Poses are held for anywhere from 3-10 minutes with very little muscular engagement, often supported by props. Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to stronger, more dynamic exercise such as running, walking, hiking, and cycling. This deep practice is gentle, yet intense, helping students not only to open the body, but also to cultivate the ability to observe and stay with sensation. All levels of practitioners are welcome.
